Professional interests
I spent 8 years servicing
and repairing road and race motorcycles for a Honda main dealer before
taking up a teaching post in Automobile Engineering at Derby College
where I was Curriculum Manager for Motorcycle Engineering programmes. I
taught there for 15 years before coming to the University in October
2002, first as a lecturer in Motorsport, and then Programme Leader and
Senior Lecturer in Automotive Engineering.
Additional Interests and Activities
I hold Senior Technical Official and Sound Inspector licences for the
Auto Cycle Union (ACU) and have officiated at MotoGP, World Superbikes
and British Superbikes competitions. I will also be a Chief Scrutineer
for Drag-Bikes at Avon Park Raceway this coming year.
